Title: Towards A Non-singular Scenario of the Early Universe

Speaker: Taotao Qiu National Taiwan University

Time and place: 12:30, September 21 (Friday), 2012, Lecture Hall/INPAC

Abstract:

The Hot Big Bang scenario working as the standard model of the early universe has encountered many theoretical problems, while inflation which aims at solving these problems remains suffered from the initial singularity problem. In this talk, I'll introduce another possible scenario which can also be free of the Big Bang singularity, dubbed as bounce. I review the preliminary of bounce cosmology, and propose a novel bounce model that can also be free of ghost instability, which generally appears in the usual bounce models. The mechanism of generation of primordial fluctuations is also presented, by which it can satisfy the observational requirements.
